SCULPTED SKIN GOLD COAST AND BRISBANE

Sculpted Clinic and Brisbane Skin are in collaboration provide you with innovative and comprehensive facial rejuvenation treatments.

People elect for cosmetic procedures for many different reasons. For facial procedures in particular, our patients often seek to restore a youthful and refreshed appearance. As an Australian first, the Sculpted Clinic and Brisbane Skin are combining their areas of expertise in surgery and energy-based devices to help patients seeking facial rejuvenation, complicated scarring and reconstruction.

What combination of treatments should I choose?

Every patient is unique. Therefore, your specific case and goals will not be the same as the next patient. Dr Sawhney and Dr Manoharan will carry out a comprehensive analysis of your face to determine an appropriate and effective treatment plan. One of the best things about this approach is its versatility. This means that the timing of the procedures can be decided around the individual, rather than the other way around.

What are the benefits of combining procedures?

Most patients are seeking a fresh and less tired look. Dr Sawhney and Dr Manoharan believe that a combined, holistic treatment encompassing both surgical and non-surgical procedures can produce superior results. This is because their respective benefits can complement each other to better target problem areas as opposed to single treatments. For example, you may be seeking to improve the tone and texture of your skin with laser resurfacing to enhance the results of a face lift.

What non-surgical procedures are offered?

Brisbane Skin specialises in dermatology and offers a wide range of treatment options that take care of patient’s skin concerns, including psoriasis, excessive sweating and acne. Their treatments aim to improve the appearance of skin using minimally invasive and topical procedures provided by their highly qualified dermatologists and nurses. In particular, some of their most popular procedures include laser treatments. This technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, thereby removing it layer by layer. The treatments range from using light to heavy lasers and include:

  • Clear + Brilliant: The laser targets ageing skin by replacing damaged skin with healthy, younger looking tissue. It is generally suitable for all skin types and has minimal downtime.
  • Picosecond Laser: A high-powered laser that removes tattoos, benign pigmented lesions, acne scars, wrinkles and treats skin pigmentation. It results in greater disruption of the target condition and provides better clearance in fewer treatments.
  • Fraxel Fractionated Laser: As one of the most requested laser procedures, the Fraxel laser promotes remodelling of the collagen layer of the dermis. It is used to treat a number of conditions such as uneven skin texture, wrinkles, tightening of facial and neck skin and pore sizes, just to name a few. A downtime of a day or two is often advised.
  • Pulse-Dye Laser: This treatment creates heat in the targeted tissue to help the appearance of small vessels on the face, generalised redness, red scars and early stages of stretch marks. The procedure can be completed in 5-10 minutes with generally no down-time.

  • Q-Switch Laser: The high energy pulse releases pigment into the skin to allow it to be naturally reabsorbed by the body. It can remove stubborn pigmentation, unwanted skin blemishes and can also improve the quality and texture of the skin. It is appropriate for most skin types and often requires no downtime.
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Laser: This ablative laser is used to treat scars, warts and deeper skin flaws by using an intense wavelength of light that vaporises the outer layers of damaged skin. The skin removal allows the skin to replenish itself by increasing collagen production to create a smoother texture.Erbium:YAG Laser: This laser is often used in conjunction with the CO2 laser to provide the ideal treatment based on patient’s particular skin conditions.
  • Erbium:YAG Laser: This laser is often used in conjunction with the CO2 laser to provide the ideal treatment based on patient’s particular skin conditions.

The trap for less experienced surgeons is the patient that has Compensatory Brow Elevation. This is when a patient has heavy eyelids from descent or brow descent that they compensate for by raising their eyebrows on eye opening. When they close their eyes the brows drop again. The importance of assessing for this is that if upper eyelid blepharoplasty alone is performed this may remove their need to raise their eyebrow on eye opening and over a couple of months they will stop doing so. At that point they will feel like their brows have dropped and potentially as well as understandably think you have cut out too much skin and pulled their eyebrows down.

The ideal situation is to perform combined upper eyelid Blepharoplasty and Brow Lift surgery. At your consult, Dr Sawhney will assess for this and discuss it with you if he feels it to be an issue in you.
