Ageing, childbirth, and weight changes can all lead to the development of annoying fatty deposits. At Sculpted, we offer a range of body sculpting treatments designed to address this kind of issue, one of which is liposuction. We offer a highly innovative type of liposuction, known as tickle liposuction. While the treatment is not suited to everyone, it can produce some very effective results. Here’s what you should know. What is liposuction? Liposuction is a procedure in which excess fat is removed from the body to improve the contours of the body. It is an effective way of removing unwanted fat from various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, hips, neck and back. At Sculpted, we offer a technique known as tickle liposuction. It is a minimally invasive procedure that generally takes between one and two hours to complete. A numbing fluid is infused with a vibrating cannula and inserted through tiny incisions in the skin. Once you are numb, your doctor will use a vibrating suction to remove fat cells from your body. Is it safe? As Dr Sawhney is an accredited plastic surgeon, you will be in great hands and because it is minimally invasive, the recovery period is generally very quick. Tickle liposuction causes very little discomfort and is a convenient option because it can be performed in-office, rather than in a hospital. Tickle liposuction doesn’t generate heat and includes a safety feature that shuts off the system if any non-fatty tissue is encountered. Infrasonic energy is used to break up fatty tissue, which ensures that there is minimal damage done to the surrounding tissue. When can I get liposuction? If you’re considering liposuction, if you’re healthy, in good physical condition, and have tight, smooth skin you will be an ideal candidate. If you don’t fit this ideal model and still want to consider liposuction, don’t worry. Although the ideal patient can achieve an excellent result, you can achieve a very good or good result if you don’t fit the ideal criteria. Dr Sawhney often pairs liposuction with other surgical procedures like abdominoplasty, brachioplasty or thigh lifts. This ensures there is little fat underneath the skin, so it can be stretched and tripped to achieve a smooth, contoured look. Dr Sawhney also almost always performs liposuction on his post-weight loss patients. What kind of results can I expect after liposuction? Because fat cells are permanently removed from the body during the liposuction procedure, the results are highly effective, and you can expect to see an enhanced body shape following treatment. It is possible, however, to gain weight back, in which case new fat cells will develop in other areas of the body. It’s important you commit to a healthy lifestyle following treatment by sticking to regular exercise regime and following an eating plan that is balanced and nutritious. Is it the right option for me? Liposuction is not a suitable option for everyone, and it is important to note it is not a weight loss procedure. Instead, liposuction is generally a good option for people who are in good overall health and are at a healthy body weight. Ideal candidates for liposuction should have good skin elasticity and not too much excess skin, as well as good muscle tone. It’s generally a suitable treatment option for those who aren’t overweight, but who have stubborn deposits of fat that won’t go away even with regular exercise and a balanced diet. Liposuction should be avoided by those who are overweight and have saggy skin. It is not an ideal treatment option for those who smoke, have chronic health conditions or a weak immune system, or who take medications that can increase the risk of bleeding. Patients with a history of health issues like heart disease, diabetes, or seizures, are generally not suitable for the treatment.
