Your skin does not actually ‘peel off’ during a chemical peel. In fact, the upper layers of skin are actually dissolved using a chemical solution. Myth 3: Chemical peels are bad for you Truth: Just like the word “peel” can be misleading, the word “chemical” can have all sorts of negative connotations. Why on earth would you want to slather chemicals all over your face? The truth is that most skin care products include chemicals in their formula and you should not let this word scare you off! when performed correctly chemical peels are a safe way to improve your skin. Not all chemicals are bad and many can work wonders to improve the appearance of your skin. Myth 4: Chemical peels hurt Truth: You may feel a slight stinging or tingling sensation during your treatment. Although chemical peels do not hurt. Myth 5: Chemical peels take a long time Truth: Not always. Some chemical peels are actually pretty fast and at Sculpted, we offer chemical peels that can be performed in about 15 minutes. No time?
