Buttock Augmentation – Brazilian Butt Lift

Look and feel voluptuous

Buttock Surgery

Curves are now very much en vogue, and the buttocks are one of the most popular

While some people are able to achieve a curvy derriere through targeted exercise, it’s not possible for everyone. Those who have lost a significant amount of weight may also find their buttocks appear deflated and flat afterward. Buttock augmentation surgery can help to address these issues.

Why consider buttock augmentation?

Not everyone has a shapely bottom, and while some people are perfectly happy with this, others wish to augment their appearance with exercise but find their efforts go unrewarded. Buttock augmentation is a surgical procedure to safely enhance the shape of the buttocks, producing natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing results. At Sculpted Clinic we offer augmentation both with implants and by fat transfer.

What is a buttock lift?

All of us are genetically predisposed to store fat in different parts of our bodies. The abdomen, love handles, buttocks and inner thighs are all common spots that patients find quite difficult to lose fat even when the rest of their body is thin or lean. A buttock lift removes excess skin and fat from the area to improve your shape and profile. Not to be confused with a Brazilian Butt Lift, which adds volume using fat transfer, this procedure only removes skin and fat through surgical excision and liposuction.

Fat transfer is a cutting-edge procedure which enables the transfer of your own fat tissue

We can remove fat from one area of the body where it is unwanted, to another where it can restore volume or augment your natural appearance.

Why undergo a buttock fat transfer procedure?

If you have ever wished you could take unwanted fat from one area of your body, such as your stomach, and then place it in another area which you’d like to enhance, such as your buttocks or breasts, wish no more; this is now a reality. Fat transfer, also known as fat grafting or fat injection, is an amazing procedure which utilises fat taken from one area of your body to enhance another. It has been used with great success to enhance areas such as the breasts, buttocks, face and even hands.

Using fat for buttock augmentation has become more and more popular in Australia over the last 5 years. Techniques for transfer and volumes transferred need to be conservative to reduce risk of complications. Overzealous fat transfer to the buttocks can have disastrous sequelae including death. Injecting fat into just the fat layers under the skin is preferable as injecting fat into the muscle may be associated with a small but definite risk of sudden death. If too much fat is injected this fat does not develop a blood supply and essentially dies. This can lead to hardened, firm areas or lumps, oil cysts or areas of calcifications. If a large pocket of fat is injected into one spot it can form a collection and become infected requiring incisions to drain the dead fat and infection, leaving behind scars and deformity. Therefore it is important that your surgeon is well versed with techniques of fat transfer and is conservative in their approach to your procedure for your safety.

This depends greatly on the type of work that you do. You should plan to take 1 to several weeks off of work. Remember, an important part of your Brazilian butt lift healing well and maintaining your desired shape, is to avoid sitting on your butt as much as possible. If your job requires you to sit at a desk all day, going back to work too soon can affect your results.

Returning to exercise after your procedure should be a slow and gradual process. In most cases, we will recommend that you wait about 3 months before you are doing particularly strenuous exercise. Mild forms of exercise such as light walking is suitable after about a week post procedure.

Naturally, the swelling you experience in the first week after your procedure will distort your final result. Though the swelling will go down within about a week or so. As the swelling goes down, the size of your butt will as well. In the second phase of healing, it is normal that your body will absorb a certain percentage of the fat that we have transferred to your butt. We account for this expected fat loss and generally implant a little fatter than we expect you will need for the desired final result. After approximately 3 – 6 months, most patients can see a shape that is close to their final results.
