What treatments are available for hand rejuvenation?

Skin Peels

Skin peels can help reduce the effects of ageing on the hands and rstore the appearance and texture. The skin peels penetrate to the deeper dermis layer, encouraging collagen production. It loosens the thickened surface layers that appear as rough, dry, scaly skin, and stimulates the production of collagen in the deeper layers. As the upper layers of skin are taken away, a smoother textured and healthier skin is revealed.

Fat Transfer

The primary method of rejuvenating the appearance and texture of the hands is through the use of fat transfer. Fat grafting in the medical professional has been practiced for decades, and Dr Raja Sawhney is at the forefront of this procedure, aiding in the pioneering of the fat transfer breast augmentation. Taking his skills in fat transfer over to hand rejuvenation makes for the perfect procedure to rejuvenate the look, texture, and volume of the hands.

Training and Qualifications

Dr Raja Sawhney played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive unit to service the demand for breast cancer resection and reconstruction, lower limb trauma and complex head and neck cancer resection and reconstruction. He dedicates a majority of his time to complex and challenging reconstructive surgery for patients who have had deformities, either from birth, from abnormal development, or after trauma or cancer.

Experience and Skills

was accepted to and commenced advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2007 governed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgery (RACS) and the Australian Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed this training and was awarded Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery – FRACS (Plast) in 2011.
