What is Skin Tightening?
Here at Sculpted Clinic, we use the Sciton BBL Laser, the ‘Rolls Royce’ of cosmetic lasers. BBL skin tightening works to penetrate the skin with infrared light energy, which encourages the production of collagen and elastin. Laser skin tightening treatments can help smooth fine lines and restore the texture of the skin. Common treatment areas for skin tightening include the face, stomach, breasts, chest, thighs and neck.
How does the procedure work?
Sciton’s BBL skin tightening laser will deposit pulses of light energy to heat the soft tissue below the skin’s surface. This heat causes the skin cells to contract and tighten. As the tissue structures rebuild below the surface, the production of collagen is stimulated, working to pump and smooth the skin. BBL treatments for skin tightening are simple, quick, pain-free and require no downtime. Treatment sessions last between 20-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.

What can I expect following BBL laser treatments?
Immediately after treatment, you may experience some mild redness and the feeling of a slight sunburn in the treated area. This should resolve within a few hours, however in some cases may last a day or two. You may notice an immediate difference in the skin, however your skin will continue to renew in the months following treatment as the skin’s natural collagen stores continue to replenish. Optimal results, however, usually require additional treatments. Results are long-lasting, although periodic touch up treatments may be needed in time.
