How To Prepare for Plastic Surgery

Request a Consultation

Are you considering cosmetic or reconstructive surgery? Perhaps you have decided to alter the shape of your body with a Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), Brachioplasty or liposuction; or you would like to opt for a breast augmentation or reduction surgery?

No matter what kind of treatment you are considering, it’s likely you are feeling a little bit anxious about the prospect. As exciting as it is to embark on a new journey, it’s completely normal to have a lot of questions and concerns. We’ve put together our tips for preparing for the process — read on if you aren’t quite sure where to start when it comes to cosmetic or reconstructive surgery…

Prepare yourself properly

The process of choosing a surgeon and procedure suited to your particular goals is an important one, and one that should be taken seriously. For this reason, it’s a good idea to do some of your own research and prepare some of your own questions before you come in for a consultation. It’s completely normal to have concerns about undergoing any kind of surgery, so don’t be shy about writing a list of questions for your surgeon to make sure that you have all the information you need. At your initial consultation, Dr Sawhney will address all of your concerns and explain everything you need to know about your chosen procedure.

Decide what you want

Before you go ahead with a cosmetic procedure, be honest with yourself and decide what it is that you really want from the treatment. Let Dr Sawhney know what parts of your body you are considering, and what your specific goals are. He will then be able to advise you of an appropriate treatment plan for you. At Sculpted Clinic, we use specialised Vectra 3D aesthetic simulation. This 3D imaging assists our patients’ decisions in breast, face and body sculpting. The room is also set up for comprehensive workup before breast augmentation and breast reconstruction and combines Vectra 3D imaging with implant sizing kits to use with clothing and mirrors to help you decide between the various implant choices we have available.

Choose a qualified and committed surgeon

It’s essential that your surgeon is experienced and qualified in their field, and that you feel completely comfortable with them throughout the process, from planning, to surgery and recovery. Our specialist plastic surgeon Dr Raja Sawhney has years of experience, skills and knowledge and has a rich clinical background in reconstructive plastic surgery.
