Vascular Lesion Treatment

Say goodbye to rosacea, spider veins and red moles at Sculpted Clinic

Vascular lesions are common and occur in many shapes, sizes and forms all over the body. These are relatively common abnormalities of the skin, however are often bothersome or unsightly.

What are vascular lesions?

Vascular lesions are skin abnormalities caused when large or numerous vessels form directly underneath the skin. As the vessels are visible through the skin, this typically results in the skin having a red appearance. Common vascular lesions include rosacea, cherry angiomas (red moles) and telangiectasia (spider veins). Vascular lesions could be the result of a number of causes, such as sun exposure, age, genetics, hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy or high blood pressure.

What can be done to treat vascular lesions?

While most vascular lesions aren’t typically a cause for concern, you may decide to get them removed for cosmetic reasons. Luckily, there are laser treatments available to quickly remove vascular lesions, such as rosacea, spider veins and red moles. Introducing the Sciton BBL Laser, the ‘Rolls Royce’ of cosmetic lasers. BBL lasers utilise the power of Intense Pulse Light (IPL) to treat rosacea and spider veins, as well as other vascular lesions. BBL treatments work to minimise the appearance of lesions, altering the overall appearance of the skin.

How Do You Treat Vascular Lesions?

How does the procedure work?

BBL will deposit pulses of light energy that gently heats up the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas, for example those vascular lesions, will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This will result in a significant restoration in skin complexion and colouring. In addition, this procedure works to destroy the target, eliminating it from the skin and in turn restoring the skin to its natural state. This will leave the skin looking smoother and vibrant in appearance and touch. BBL treatments for vascular lesions are simple, quick, pain-free and require no downtime. Treatment sessions last between 20-30 minutes.

What can I expect following BBL laser treatments?

Immediately after treatment, you may experience some mild redness and the feeling of a slight sunburn in the treated area. This should resolve within a few hours, however in some cases may last a day or two. You will start to notice healthier looking skin within a few days following treatment and the targeted vascular lesions will usually clear up within one to two weeks. Our friendly staff is ready to respond on all additional questions and ease your recovery period.
